What: A global online consultation for major groups and stakeholders in preparation for UNEA5

About 150 actors from Major Groups and Stakeholders will come together online for an international consultation to discuss how to strengthen actions for nature to achieve the sustainable development goals. The virtual consultation takes place June 7th and is a preparatory meeting leading up to the Fifth Session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA) next year.

13.00 - 13.25: Framing the consultation and the ambitions (Opening)
13.30 - 14.30: Tackling Ocean Pollution (Panel discussion and group discussions)
14.45 - 15.45: Health and Environment: What a post-pandemic recovery looks like (Panel discussion and group discussions)
16.00 - 17.00: Ecosystem Restoration, Biodiversity, and Development: How can we have development in harmony with nature? (Panel discussion and group discussions)
17.15 - 18.15: Road to Stockhom+50, UNEP@50 and achieving the SDGs: Involvement and Implementation (Panel discussion and group discussions)
19.00 - 20.00: The major groups meet in a designated space to develop concrete proposals and key requests for the themes discussed in the Break-out sessions (Group discussions)
20.15 - 21.30: Taking the work forward: How to advance the outcomes of the consultation towards UNEA 5 and beyond in a strategic manner? One representative from each major group present the main points of their group. (Plenary)
21.15 - 21.30: Closing session
